Battle Of The Balms: Clinique vs Glossier vs Hey Honey

Lately, balms and jelly makeup removers have been everyone’s jam.

It’s a great way to melt off all of your makeup and not have to be rubbing your face forever with makeup wipes.

It saves your eyelashes from being pulled out and your face from being irritated.

I decided to try out 3 different makeup removers and rate them. (plus, a little bonus at the very bottom)

Let the battle begin!

Glossier - Milky Jelly Cleanser

This cleanser is super light and oily feeling. You can use it on a wet face or dry.

You do a couple pumps and rub it all around your face and eyes to melt away all your makeup. And it truly does an amazing job!

Add water to it to rinse away. It leaves your skin so clean and soft.

Pros: It’s very easy to spread and a little goes a long way. It comes in a pump bottle, which is easy to dispense and is more sanitary.

Cons: It's not really a con as much as a preference. I love the fact that it’s a makeup remover and a cleanser. However, I feel like it’s not the same as removing your makeup and then washing your face. It’s doing it all in one step, which normally I love, but not in the case of clean skin.

4/5 - I love the idea of this one and it really is a great time saver! But, because it's not life changing, I'm giving it a 4.

Clinique - Take The Day Off Balm

This balm I’ve talked about before.

It’s consistency is almost buttery. Like a lotion. You scoop some out and rub it on dry face and it makes all your makeup melt away.

Pros: It’s super easy to use. You literally rub it everywhere and it takes everything off. It lasts a long time. The tub they give you is so big!

Cons: Easily gets into your eyes and makes kind of a mess. I get blurry vision a lot from this guy getting in my eyes. It doesn’t hurt or anything, it’s just a bit messy. I also don’t like that you’re dipping your hands into a pot every time you use it. It seems unsanitary after many uses.

3/5 - I want to love this one for it’s ease and how long it lasts, but it’s nothing compared to the other 2 in this post. I’ll always love it as an option, but may not repurchase.

Hey Honey - Come Undone

Hey Honey is a brand I always get in my Ipsy bags. They’re pretty good products from what I’ve tried.

What's interesting about this makeup remover is it’s super thick when dry. It’s like hair gel or aloe vera. But, when you dampen it, it feels like a melty balm that takes everything off. (you apply this one with damp fingers and rub all over)

Pros: It takes your makeup off soooo well. It only takes a little bit to do it’s job. This one doesn’t get in your eyes either.

Cons: I don't know if it has any! It really does an amazing job. No complaints here.

5/5 - Leaves your face clean and makeup free.

And the winner is... (drumroll please) Hey Honey!

Even though this brand has less of a following than the others, I see it as the underdog coming out on top.

Doesn’t matter how big your brands name is. Your products shine when they’re thoughtfully made.

Not diminishing Clinique or Glossier because they're also my faves and I would also recommend their products. As you can see, they all got pretty high ratings in my book.

Have you tried any of these? Which do you think is the winner? Let me know on my instagram!

*Because I loved their products, Hey Honey was kind enough to offer anyone who uses my code 10% off their purchase!

I hope you love it as much as I do! And if you do, I wanna hear about it! Use code: crystal10 at checkout!
