NEW YEAR, NEW SKIN! My skin has been SO perfect, guys. (which is a HUGE change from November)
I've went from 40 degree weather on the east coast to 70 degree weather back on the west coast and humidity changes all over the place. Needless to say, my skin was unhappy and dry. Luckily, I've found a consistent skin regimen for the winter that has helped immensely and has kept my skin clear and balanced.
Let me start by saying, I had to quit all the oils. My skin decided that after loving Cocokind and all the face oils I swore by, that it hated it. I started feeling oily and breaking out and having a bunch of build up in my pours. Like, wtf skin! I literally didn't know what to do because my skin was just breaking out all over my jaw line and cheeks. I hadn't seen it this bad (possibly ever) in a while. I knew it was time for a reset. No oils. No oil based stuff. Just regular ol' face wash and moisturizer. That is when I came to love serums more than ever.
Everyone loves a good serum. But, this winter, I've found a greater appreciation for them and one in particular that I'll cover in this post.
So, moral of the story is, oils can be great and magical for your skin. However, when it's time to change, you change. Seasons and hormones have a lot of effect on your skin and it's all about listening to what your skin wants. (every little annoying breakout and blackhead)
I also learned I don't drink enough water because my lips have been, not even dry, shriveled up like a prune.

This California based skincare brand is my new favorite! I'm obsessed. I got a sample of their face wash and loved it so much I had to buy the full bottle.
Their ingredients are great and the price is amazing for the amount of product you get!! This face wash is perfect for winter.
When I tried it in the summer, I thought it was too hydrating. But, when I brought it back out this winter, it was perfect! It's a creamy cleanser that makes your face feel nice and clean and takes your makeup off pretty well by itself!
The moisturizer is the perfect light weight moisturizer for every day. I also love that it's a pump bottle. The bottles are so big and beautiful. This brand is just amazing... They were also nice enough to be part of my giveaway this past holiday season and I was so grateful! They also have a facility where they give laser facials! I'm going to go try one soon. I also have their pillowcase which is supposed to support their products and it has special ion technology that helps fight bacteria and prevent acne. So far, my skin has been WAY clearer and balanced. To the point where people have been noticing and commenting.
Yes, yes.. I love Cocokind. We all know. Despite my skin freaking out over their oils, I still love them and their toners. I've talked about this toner before. It's just the perfect rosewater toner. Plus, it's in a glass bottle, which makes everything better. It smells like rose and it makes for a great thinner for lotions and serums. I use this after my face wash, before my serum and moisturizer.
This is literally magic. You will never believe how amazing this stuff is. Both effective and natural, this anti-dark spot serum boosts radiance and helps even the skin tone. When I was breaking out, I broke down and bought this expensive shiz because I had tried the sample and knew it would clear my skin like crazy. I WAS RIGHT. It was expensive af, but so worth it. My skin became even toned, my pours shrank, my face was WAY less bumpy. It was smooth, bright, hydrated and plump. I was SO happy. It exceeded my expectations. I think I'll have to put money aside just to buy this every few months just so my skin looks this good forever. If you're looking for a good serum to put under your moisturizer that perfects everything it touches, this is it.
I instantly noticed a difference in my hair, skin and nails since I started taking this daily. One or two scoops is all you need and your skin will feel and look more hydrated, more even toned, and clearer (I think it's a mixture of this and the products). My hair has been so soft and full and healthy, my skin has been radiant and hydrated, and my nails have grown SO much in like a week. I swear by this stuff.
The smell of this product alone should make you buy it. It's so wonderful! This is a pistachio oil based body butter. I got a sample in my ipsy bag and fell in love!! It goes on so smooth and rubs in so easily. Plus, like I said, the smelllll! It is the perfect body butter for winter. Not too heavy, just hydrating enough. It's so pampering for after a shower.
This mask has always been a favorite of mine. It's perfect for people who pick pimples of break out a lot hormonally. When I use this mask, it helps bring down swelling in my acne and it clears my pours so much. I can't describe how wonderful this product is. You'd have to see it to believe it. I can squeeze every blackhead on my face and make it all red and puffy and put this mask on and it's like I never picked a thing. LOVE.
I got this stuff for Christmas and immediately added it to my faves list. Like I was saying earlier, my lips have been super dry. I used this scrub and felt a huge difference. My lips felt less dry and tight, and more hydrated and plump. It's brown sugar based and has jojoba oil and shea butter.
Also part of my giveaway, and my holiday gift guide, and my travel essentials... Patchology has become my new go-to for sheet masks. But, what takes the cake are these hydrating lip gels. It's a jelly lip shaped mask that hydrates and plumps your lips. I used this on the plane when my lips were tight and prune like. They felt so revived afterward. It was amazing! They only take 5 minutes to work and then you rub in the serum that's leftover. If you suffer from dry lips in the winter, this is a must have!
